Our story starts organically. Like most hard-working people, after a long week I like to make myself a little drink at home to start the weekend. My wife makes great cocktails and she’s always experimenting with new ways to make the experience great for me. One evening, she decided to try creating her own simple syrup. She took some rosemary from her garden and started working on the perfect balance of herb to sugar ratio. She added her new creation to a couple shots of gin and handed me the glass. After having the first sip, I knew this was something everyone had to try!

A few weeks later, we taste tested the syrup with local friends and family; introducing our rosemary and basil syrups to the world for the first time. Everyone started to gravitate toward their favorite flavor and give their thoughts on how to perfect the recipe. We listened, and went back to the kitchen once more. After another round of experiments with ratios, we knew that we were ready for the marketplace. We met with the leaders of the Memphis Farmer’s Market and gave them samples to try. They loved the taste and gave us the green light to set up shop. The rest is history!

At Cane & Herb, we pride ourselves on using the finest ingredients to create our syrups: raw organic cane sugar, filtered water, and herbs grown fresh in our home garden. We take our time with every batch to get the perfect taste, with rich notes of the herb flavor in every sweet sip. Try our syrup in your favorite mixed drinks, on that next stack of french toast, or poured over the top of savory chicken and waffles.
